Trade Promotion and"BrazilTradeNet"

On BrazilTradeNet you can browse, free of charge, information on Brazilian companies, Brazilian export offers and fairs in Brazil and abroad. You can also check a variety of publications, seminars and economic indicators, among other products and services.

Brazilian export offers and demand for the import of Brazilian products are previously validated in order to guarantee their reliability and quality of information.


Trade Promotion Sections (Secoms)

The 57 Trade Promotion Sections (the so-called “Secoms”), located in strategic places abroad, act as the Trade Promotion Department's “antennae”. These Sectors are in charge of gathering and disseminating data on trade and investment opportunities. They also assist Brazilian exporting firms looking for new markets competitors and help organize fairs, corporate missions and other events. In addition, the Secoms develop market and product surveys, and analyses competitiveness and competitors.

In places where there is no Secoms, the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate – through the consult to BrazilTradeNet - supports Brazilian entrepreneurs and, also, foreigners entrepreneurs interested in importing from Brazil or investing in the country.

Brazilian System of Trade Promotion

BrazilTradeNet is part of the Brazilian System of Trade Promotion, which, besides the Trade Promotion Sections (Secoms) is also integrated by the unities of the Trade Promotion Department (DPR).

Trade Promotion Head Office (DPR)

The Ministry of External Relations' Trade Promotion Department (DPR) carries out abroad the Brazilian foreign trade policy. The Department also coordinates, and implements policies designed to promote Brazilian exports and to attract relevant foreign investment to Brazil. Besides, DPR organizes events for the promotion of the country and its productive and technological capacity; and stimulates activities for enhancing flows of tourism to Brazil.

Through BrazilTradeNet, DPR helps Brazilian entrepreneurs in their efforts to export, guaranteeing the diffusion of both trade and investment opportunities, and acts as a facilitator of technology transfer to Brazil.

The Trade Promotion Department conducts its activities with the support of four specialized Divisions in Brazil and 150 posts – Embassies and Consulates – abroad, 57 of which with Trade Promotion Sections (Secoms).

Trade Information Division (DIC)
This unity is responsible for the systematic collection of data on foreign trade, for the elaboration of market studies, the gathering and spreading information through BrazilTradeNet and the assistance to Brazilian and foreigner entrepreneurs in their inquiries about business opportunities in Brazil.

• Trade Promotion Programs Division (DPG)
This Division coordinates the Focal Points of the Investment Promotion and Technology Transfer System (SIPRI), and is in charge of all technical aspects associated to BrazilTradeNet. DPG also deals with cooperation partnerships with other public and private organizations, administrative matters and the training of human resources. It is also responsible for the planning, basic organization and financial matters of the DPR.

Trade Promotion Operation Division (DOC)
This Division is in charge of trade missions, fairs, seminars, business rounds, and other promotional events both in Brazil and abroad. DOC also provides support to visits and missions to Brazil of foreign investors and importers, and to the organization of seminars and other events aimed at disseminating the achievements of the Brazilian business community.

Trade Fairs and Tourism Division (DFT)
This Division organizes and coordinates Brazilian companies participation in sectorial and multisectorial fairs abroad, and works for the conception and development, in Brazilian Embassies and Consulates

BrazilTradeNet aims at:

• facilitating and strengthening Brazilian exportations, through the use of technology and of the Trade Promotion Sections net (Secoms);

• offering strategic information to help business between Brazilian and foreigner companies;

• increasing foreigner companies investment in Brazil;

• promoting Brazil´s image and quality of its products.
